motorola this week unveiled its first androidphone for the south korean market. the phone looks similar to the motorola droidhandset in the us or the milestone in europe but without the slide-out keyboard. the motoroi runs on android 2.0 and sportsa 3.7-inch touchscreen with wide vga resolution that makes it easier to view full-screen webpages. there's an 8-megapixel camera with face detection,red eye reduction and other advanced features. it can record 720p high-definition video andan hdmi connector is included for hooking it up to a high-def tv. it also supports korea'sterrestrial digital broadcasting service, t-dmb.
like other android phones it comes loadedwith a host of google applications that could be useful on-the-go including maps, gmail,youtube and google talk instant messaging. the motoroi will be available from februarythrough sk telecom. the phone will be available in other countries but launch dates have yetto be announced. in tokyo this is martyn williams, idg newsservice.
