oh hello, it's time for 'wonderful adventure now simon's not here but leigh and i are going to get our nails done in korea' sunny edition yeah look at my nails i bet you wish you can go to where i go while i have got that question like a million times on my instagram photos so for today, sunny who is my nail artist, agreed to let us crash her little tiny studio and show you guys how awesome she is let's rewind time and show you the nail art is done here in korea so what i'm getting done is actually gel tip extensions
everyone keeps asking like "oh my god, martina your nails look so perfect" it's cause they're not my nails guys so gel tip extensions are awesome because it doesn't go over your whole nail this actually just goes on the end of your nails these little machines popped out here, these are the little uvcookers it doesn't sound good to say 'cook', does it? let's say 'nail polish..oven'? no the magic machine
sunny is adding a clear coat onto my nails now and it's going to actually keep the nail from breaking off my nail and the magic machine will really rapidly bake the actual gel and keep my nail from cracking off important phase, we haven't even begun the art stage yet as my nails grow, the extension grows with it and eventually the end of the nail will just fall off or or if you wanna change, you can come in and sunny will take them for you professionally alright, so you can see that sunny has finished shaping them it looks like i have real nails, like this looks likes my actual nail grew in just beautifully
but this is just phase one complete of the shaping this stage is actually really critical for it to be done right so what i like about sunny is that before i found her i went to other some other places and they didn't actually put in an even and firm enough coats and so happened was that my just kind of like fell off really fast but if people don't do it right, then your nails can just fall off after like a week and and everyone's like, "this is a waste of money" you're just going to the wrong person
ya gotta go to sunny, so ya gotta fly to korea. do it you've got japanese clients that do that don't you? yeah they fly from japan to korea just for sunny so a couple tips if you will, about getting your designs done you notice that sunny is putting this on an angle when she's doing it and you might be like "oh that's just because of the design" is it? or did we cleverly do that so that when my nails grow out, you can't tell that it's growing out? ahhh?
so if you paint the whole nail, it looks really pretty but after a week, you'll start seeing, kinda like the root of your nail, like when you get your hair done so the same reason why i paint my hair underneath a layer is so you can't see the roots, it's the same thing here so sunny can do your nails on an angle she could do like a french tip or she sometimes does an edge at the bottom that way you actually just can't tell that's something i'd recommend thinking about with your designs
if you're getting your gel nails designed as well with an actual design or any kind of nail art done and not just a colour give yourself a lot of time, don't just think it's going to take like 30 minutes cause you can see that sunny's adding a coat of colour first and then i have to dry it or bake it inbetween each one so when she finishes the base colour then we gonna go on to the nail art and then from there i have to bake it again and then from there, she's got to coat it afterwards with a clear coat
so give yourself a lot of time it's not the same as getting a nail polish done when you just have two coats and you're outta there so all in all leigh and i got here around 1pm and it is almost 6 o'clock now so it takes quite some time to do gel nail art but what i like about it is that it lasts for over a month seriously, think about all the manicures you buy and how much it adds up in 1 month
and how annoying it is when you get one chip the second day after because you washed a single cup well guess what? this dries instantly, it's never gonna chip and i will literally have these until my nail grows out and falls off and i can keep trimming it along the way to match my size so if you don't like nails this long, cut them shorter
